Peas are very healty. They are a good source of vitamins C and E, zinc, and other antioxidants that strengthen your immune system. Also they are very delicious. In Turkey, there is a different peas recipe. Most of the recipes from outside of Turkey do not contain tomatoes. But we do! We know that kidsare not really into peas but with this recipe i know no kids to resist peas. No need to fear lets dig in.
Ingredients;
- 500 grams of peas
- 2 carrots
- 2 potatoes
- 1 big sized onion (yellow onion)
- 250 grams of large diced veal
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil (olive oil is a ‘has to be’ )
- 2 tea spoons of tomato paste
- 400 ml of water
Instructions
- Peal onion first.
- Then mince onion, it has to be small sized
- Peal potatoes and carrots.
- Chop potatoes and and carrots
- Pour oil in to a pot and when oil gets hot add your onions in it and keep mixing until onion gets transparent and change it’s color a bit.
- Add tomato paste in to pot and mix it for 2 minutes with onions on high heat.
- When onions and paste are done add veal in the pot and never stop mixing onions and veal.
- Then put carrots and potatoes in these.
- Add peas now.
- Before pouring hot water in to pot add your salt and spice. I recommend 1 tea spoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of dried mint.
- Now you can pour water in it and keep mixing for 8 more minutes
- Cover your pot and let it cook on low heat for 20-25 minutes.
- It’s done when potatoes are coooked.
